  • PSP Rhythm 6.1

  • PSP Rhythm is a homebrew drum machine for the Sony Playstation Portable. Inspired by classic drum machines such as the Linndrum and Roland TR-series, PSP Rhythm has been created to use the simple, yet effective sequencer. PSP Rhythm incorporates the use of audio sample playback instead of drum synthesis. PSP Rhythm has been directly influenced by one of our favorite modern drum machines, the Elektron MachineDrum. The most significant is our use of 'parameter locks' (as used by the MachineDrum). Parameter locks enable you to change the pitch, volume, and pan per step to create moving, changing melodies and effects. This control over your sounds will give you much more creative freedom and allow you to not only use drums, but to use instruments in your music.
Included effects are: Distortion, Slicer, High/Low Pass Filter, Delay, Time Stretch and Monophonic Sample Mode. Effects assist in creating new and unique sounds. They assist you in getting the most out of your samples and the bass line synthesizer. With effects, Rhythm goes beyond a typical drum machine and is now a well rounded production suite.

How to install: unzip and copy the content on your PSP /GAME directory
  • PSP Rhythm 7.0

  • PSP Rhythm 7.0 is a complete music workstation in the palm of your hand. PSP Rhythm features include sample playback, sample manipulation, audio effects, grid sequencer, and song arranger. PSP Rhythm enables you to take audio samples, arrange them, effect them, and record your songs to CD quality audio files.
    Major Improvements for version 7.0:
    - Wave Table Synthesizer (with user defined oscillator)
    - Sample Volume Envelope
    - Improved Audio Engine
    - Song files have replaced bank files
    - Improved file user interface
Inspired by classic drum machines, synthesizers, samplers, and modern audio software, PSP Rhythm is a portable music studio which fuses old and new ideas.
The heart of PSP Rhythm is its sample based playback engine. The playback engine enables you to chop and pitch-shift any sound. Every sampled sound also runs through an individual volume envelope which enables you to alter the attack or decay of the sound. Samples can then be modified with effects such as distortion, slicer, delay, time-stretch, high/low pass filter, and monophonic sample mode.
The on board Bass-line synth in PSP Rhythm is similar to the classic Roland TB-303. TB-303 style features such as Accent and Slide are available. The real-time control of the cutoff and resonance give you that authentic 'Acid' sound that made the TB-303 Bass-line synth so famous.
The newest audio tool introduced in PSP Rhythm version 7.0 is the Wave Synth. The Wave Synth uses the basic building blocks of subtractive synthesis with the ability to use any sampled audio source as a digital oscillator.
PSP Rhythm can simultaneously sequence 15 samples or 15 wave synths and 1 Bass-line synth. Sounds are grouped into patterns, patterns can be expanded into songs, and songs can be recorded to CD quality PCM wave format and exported to general midi. Songs can now be loaded and saved per song file which enables you to save and back-up your data as much as you wish..

  • In the Conversion field 'PBP File:' click the '...' button and browse/select the EBOOT.PBP of the homebrew software you want to install
  • In the Conversion field 'PSP Unit:' select the drive letter of the PSP memorystick where the homebrew software will be installed
  • Click on 'Generate files' button, two directories will be created on your PSP/GAME folder, (e.g. one called THISNAME and the other called THISNAME%) and the EBOOT.PBP corresponding files copied on them
  • The homebrew software you want to install may require that you manually copy additional files to the PSP, in this case you should do it targeting the PSP/GAME subdir of the homebrew software WITHOUT the '%' (e.g. the one called THISNAME and not THISNAME%), check the homebrew software installation text for specific details related to the one you want to install
  • The same as the point before applies to e.g. ROMS for psp homebrew emulators, copy them always in the emulator subdir named WITHOUT the '%' (e.g. THISNAME/ROMS and not THISNAME%/ROMS)

  • I got my first memorystick corrupted by putting the PSP into sleep mode while playing a rom :(
In my case someone was using my PSP to play Super Mario Bros. I didn't know before about this emulators danger.
So my suggestion is to avoid sleep mode when running emulators or enter sleep mode only from the rom selector menu and not while playing a game.
Once corrupted no drive will recognize your memorystick and you will not be able to re-format it....it's gone!

I bought a 'cheap' 4GB memorystick on EBAY and it resulted to be a FAKED ONE and even worst, NOT WORKING (only the first 1 GB is usable, the rest is corrupted data).
I post this page hoping to help others to reflect before buying cheap sticks online.
